The undergraduate nursing program is designed to create competent and confident nurses and midwives by developing both strong academic knowledge and practical skills.
Program Objectives
Skill-Based Training: The program prepares graduates to deliver complete patient care, including preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative services. Students are trained in patient assessment, care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, and outcome evaluation.
Independent Clinical Judgment: Emphasis is placed on critical thinking and ethical practice, enabling students to take informed decisions and advocate for quality and equitable healthcare.
Exposure to Multiple Healthcare Settings: Students gain experience in hospitals and community healthcare centers, preparing them to adapt to diverse professional environments.

Course Description
This four-year degree program blends classroom teaching with extensive practical training. Students receive structured theoretical instruction along with supervised clinical exposure under experienced faculty. Annual examinations evaluate both knowledge and practical competence. On completion, graduates emerge as well-rounded professionals ready to meet healthcare industry demands.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the B.Sc. Nursing program must meet the following requirements:
Candidates appearing in the 10+2 examination in 2024 may also apply, subject to qualifying the examination before counselling or admission; failing which, their candidature will be cancelled automatically.
Must be a domicile of UT of Jammu & Kashmir or UT of Ladakh (for Ladakh candidates, an ST certificate issued by the competent authority will be considered a domicile certificate).
Must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2025.
Must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing at least 45% marks from a recognized board, with English passed separately.
Candidates from reserved categories are eligible with 40% marks in the core subjects.
